Maine Racing

Let me introduce to you our team!

Our Drivers

Travis Maine:

During the week, Travis is a normal eleven years old, sixth grade student at Western Branch Middle School. But on the weekends, he is drives a junior dragster at greater than 75 mph.He also holds a first degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do, which, in the past, he has won many medals in tournaments. He has taken a break from Tae Kwon Do to focus more on drag-racing. He has been a very active member in our race team since he was five. He has driving since he was eight. When he is not driving one of he two junior dragsters he is a crew member on his brother Brian's full size dragster.

Travis' Cars: His regular bracket race-car is a 2003 AllStar Junior Dragster. It has a modified five horse power Briggs and Stratton engine that runs off of alcohol. It has a Polar Clutch and a Mikuni Carborator. Currently I can only run from 8.90 seconds in the 1/8th mile, due to the rules. In 2004, at the IHRA Tracks he will be able to run 7.90 seconds in the 1/8th mile, and will continue to run 8.90 seconds at the NHRA tracks. His heads-up race car is a 2003 Allstar Outlaw car. We are in the process of seting up this car for the 2004 season as my 7.90 and faster car. At some of the races that we attend they will run ½ track races and let you go as fast as you can in a heads up race. This will be his first year able to race at these races as he will be 12 years old then.

Brian Maine:

In 2004, Brian will be taking a year off from drag racing. He will be attending Nascar Technical Institute in Mooresville, NC. He finished his 2003 season in his super pro dragster. This was the first year he has driven a super pro-dragster. Brian ran junior dragsters for over five years and even drove one of Travis' cars in 2003 at the big races.

Brian had a 1992 Race Tech full size dragster for the 2003 season. Which he will sell when he goes to school. This dragster ran 5.33 seconds in the eighth mile at over 125 mph. He was able to run at the AC Delco Nationals in Dinwiddie Virginia this year. He also ran at the Super Chevy show.
